Despite Government claims, the NHS is being privatised, resulting in fragmentation of services and wasted taxpayers’ money.

PFIs have loaded our hospitals with debt – all because our Government is unwilling to invest in one of our most important and loved institutions.

I will continue to fight for a properly resourced and publicly owned NHS, including a fit-for-purpose Whipps Cross – the hospital where I was born.

Cuts to social care nationally have caused a crisis. This has hit us hard in Chingford & Woodford Green, with more stress on those that are already unwell. The Labour Party has pledged £8 billion for social care and we need to work with the professionals to work out longer term solutions to our ageing population.

With a Labour government, Waltham Forest Council will receive £500,000 to invest in children's mental health services in schools.
